Good morning everyone. 　
How are you all? Today is my last day at Hotei JHS. So I am sad today.

I stayed in Hotei JHS for 3 years. They were 3 happy years. I met, talked and played sports with many students. We had a good time. Hotei JHS has many friendly and kind students and teachers. But now I will move on. That's life. Life keeps moving.

Life keeps moving and sometimes moves too quickly. So in life we should not waste precious time, but we must have a dream. Do you have a dream?
Maybe you do have a dream. Maybe your dream is to join AKB48. Maybe your dream is to marry an AKB48 member. You are still young. So maybe you don't have a dream yet. Maybe your dream is to be a captain of the school soccer team, or maybe your dream is to pass your exams.

In life it is important to have a dream and to try and get your dream. Sometimes you can't get your dream, but you have to try and try. Life is not easy. Sometimes you are sad. Sometimes you are angry, sometimes you are stressed, but life keeps moving and you have to be positive.

Many people say I can't do it, I can't do it, I can't do it. Don't say that. Please say, I can do it, I can do it, I can do it. Be positive.

Now you are 13 and 14. When I was 13 and in the first grade of JHS, my mother died. She was sick at home for a long time. When I was 14 and in the second grade of JHS my father died. He was also sick at home for a long time. Of course I was very, very sad everyday. But I was positive. I wanted to make my parents proud. So my dream was to become a nurse and help sick people. I didn't get my dream. But now I am a teacher and I can help young people. So I am very happy. Be positive.

Many times we don't get our dreams, but we have to try.

Life is difficult, but life is also very very beautiful. Look outside. The sun is shining. You are here with your good friends and teachers. Your spring holidays will start soon.

Most students are from Japan here. I am from Ireland. Japan is one country, and Ireland is one country. But we are friends. There are many, many countries in the world. Be open, travel the world, see the beauty of other countries. I am lucky. I have been to more than 15 different countries and I loved every country. You can learn more from traveling than you can ever learn from a book. Don't be afraid of the world, embrace it. Be curious. Please don't think of someone as being a foreigner, think of them as being another human, a possible friend.
You are young. You are the future of Japan, but more importantly I hope you are the future of the world. You can change the world.

Life keeps moving and sometimes moves too quickly. You are busy with tests and clubs. But you are children. So don't forget to spend time enjoying what children do. 　

Today I am sad and happy. Sad to be leaving Hotei JHS. But happy because 3 years ago I didn't know you, students and teachers here. But now I do, and I have made many new friends in Hotei. I hope we can see each other again in Japan.

Good luck in your life from now. Respect your parents and teachers. Respect your friends and community and respect yourselves. Be nice to other people. It's free.

I hope that everyone here today can try and try to acheive your dreams in the future. For you are the future.
